The Funnel Web Spider
This spider is native to Australia and is distinctly known for its funnel shaped web (hence the name funnel web spider). You must take great precautions when handling these spiders, because their fangs have been known to puncture soft shoes and fingernails. These are considered to be the most dangerous of all spiders, and 26 deaths in Australia have been recorded. The strange thing about these deaths is that whenever it could be determined, the spider was male. This raises a theory that male spiders are more dangerous than the females.
